The best ways to enjoy your fall days
Summers are fun for some, with holidays and boring for others who don’t enjoy the heat. These are followed by fall, as autumn is called in the USA with lowering temperatures and cooler winds. If you haven’t had a holiday yet due to lack of time or lack of the right amount for a break, fall will have all the solutions for you. With the summer crowds gone, the beaches will be empty allowing you a more private experience, and at some destinations, like those in the south of Europe, the waters will be warm enough to invite you for a swim.
The seasonal offerings
If you plan to enjoy what fall has to offer itself, there are various national parks in the USA and Canada where you can watch the color of the leaves change with a fresh environment around you. It’s not just us the humans who will be happy to see the summer gone, you will find wildlife moving around with greater energy. If you enjoy the mountains but not the snow there are the mountainous territories in Switzerland and north of Italy. You will be able to enjoy the views with lights shining around you and you can choose to go hiking alone or explore the countryside. Here we suggest some destinations with the different ways of enjoying an autumn break there.
New England with falling leaves
This region in the northeast of the USA consists of a few small states including Massachusetts and New Hampshire. Here you can enjoy the foliage in the various parks or as you walk along streets lined up with trees. Autumn here starts at the end of September and lasts till the end of December. In the interiors of these states, you will find farming communities with their horses. You can hire one if you have always wanted to ride like a cowboy. You can walk along the river trails, like those of the Connecticut River with wonderful views all around you. If you are sure of yourself, you can go into the forests for a little adventure for yourself.
Cabin retreats in Wyoming
If you don’t prefer peak-season holidays, the main reason could be that you live in a city and are tired of all the noise around you. For you, there are the cabins in the green areas or next to the rivers offering you a quiet break. You can choose among many destinations and one of them is Wyoming. These will also be right for nature lovers. There are different types of cabins offering different facilities, the high-ends will come with Wi-Fi connections and with all the utilities that you find at your home. Though there will be no room service and you will have to maintain everything around you. There will be no restaurants close by and you should stay ready to prepare your own meals. However, what you will enjoy here is the campfire which you can enjoy with your group.
Napa Valley with wines in California
Fall is the time of harvesting for most farms and the same goes for the vineyards full of grapes on vines. Napa Valley in California is a popular tourist resort with such farms with plenty of options for accommodation. You can choose to stay in the small towns or away from them. You will find highly-rated restaurants where you can sit in the open and enjoy your lunch or supper enjoying the views with your meal, along with a locally produced wine. You can hire bikes and go biking along the countryside looking at the way the people go through their daily life here. There are the hot air balloon rides, if you are looking to thrill yourself.
